A country that i'd like to visit
Hello, today i'll be writing about a country that i would like to visit one day. The first country that comes to my mind is Nigeria, in Africa. I would like to go there because one of my favorite writers is from Nigeria, her name is Chimamanda Gnozi Adichie.
(That's Chimamanda)

She usually writes about ancestral cultures that has been destroyed and different traditions that are fighting to survive. I would like to go there to experience that, to appreciate a different culture that I have been reading for a while now. I actually don't know much about Nigeria, but I will be investigating soon for sure. I only know about this country through the books I have read, and everytime I read these books i'm fascinated by how she writes with passion about her natal country. She writes about believing in ancestral goddess and doing rituals in some communities to honor them. I think that what captured me more was the fact that Nigeria used to have different religions that christianity and catholicism left in second place or even exterminated. Actually, at the present time only 1,4% of the population belong to other religions. Besides, Nigeria has 516 languages at the time, but english is their official language after the British colonization (although it is not used in rural areas and ethnic groups). Chimamanda used to use some word and sentences written in igbo and yoruba which are indigenous languages.

I would like to go and talk to the people there, maybe go to one of those rituals that takes place in public spaces. Of course i would like to try to approach to this culture with respect. I don't think i would go there to study, work or live. I think i would go as a tourist, cause that's what i am to them. Besides, i wouldn't like to live at such a hot country 😂😂😂😂.

Once I read a book written by her, by Chimamanda Gnozi Adichie , it was really an experience, I would recommend it.
ResponderEliminarHi April, I find really fascinating that you would like to visit this country. I'm a woman that never goes out from her comfort zone so it would be very difficult to me to visit a country with such a different culture, so I think it's amazing!
