My favourite subject

My favourite subject this semester is epistemology. In class we usually sit on a circle and discuss about the topics. The teacher is talking most of the time, explaining the contents and between that she starts asking if somebody has a question or comments. In a typical class we discuss about different ways to understand what knowledge, truth, science means, and how every point of view refute another, in fact they are constantly refuting between them. We work with many authors, such as Descartes, Hume, Kant, Popper, Kuhn, Feyerabend, Husserl, etc. I like it because we're always questioning our own ways to see the world, and we get to realize that your way to understand the world is not always right, or rather be right or wrong depending on which point of view is refuting yours. I also like this subject because the evaluations are quite interesting. Our last test was in pairs, and we had 30 minutes to talk to each others about how were we going to answer the questions, and then 1 ho...

An expert on my field

Imagen
The person who I admire on my field is my mom. She's a psychologist from the same university I'm studying right now. She's 45 years old and she had three children. She works with kids who have been raped, abused or assaulted. Most of those kids end up living at orphanages, and having a terrible life, but my mom works hard to solve this cases and to make justice for them. She has worked in state institutions like SENAME or DAM, I like her because she is a very good professional and she does her job passionately, she doesn't care that much about money, she just want to fix as much as she can those kids' history. Also, people are always offering her important jobs, even on the government, but she would never violate her principles, for example, communism; she doesn't even take important positions on large institutions, because she wants to interact face to face with the kids. She always gives her best at her job, because child care system on Chile is negligent, ...

MOVIES

I love watching movies, and I do go to the cinema quite often. I don't like a special kind of films, I could watch any movie as long as you told me that it's a good movie. The last film I saw was Harry Potter on the 4dx cinema, which is a special cinema where they use physical effects, like moving your seat, throwing water and odors. My all-time favourite film is always changing, so I can't tell you it's my all-time favourite, but it's my favourite right now. I'm talking about Kill Bill, this movie is about a woman who is a killer and she wants to get revenge. The main character is played by Uma Thurman. I like it because it has great music, the history is interesting, and it also has a lot of blood. I don't like watching many times the movies that I loved, because you can get bored of it and never want to watch it again, so I have seen Kill Bill just three times. I would totally reccomend you this movie, you will love it. I bet you will want to watch the...

My favourite photograph

Imagen
This is photograph was taken by my friend Fernanda, who I deeply love with all my heart. It shows me with three dogs that I met on the beach. It was taken on last year's winter holidays and I like it because that day me and my friend took a walk on our pijamas, it was cold so we had to put jackets on, and we walked along the beach all the morning. Those dogs started following us, they were very friendly. We sat on the sand just watching and listening the seawaves, and those dogs joined us, they were also watching the sea, and while we were doing that my friend started tooking pictures of the sea, the dogs, the hills, and the rising sun. The both of us were in total silence, just enjoying that cold breeze, the dogs runing around us, and the sun appearing between the hills. We just contemplate the view and it was a very quiet and lovely morning.

Music

Music is one of the most important things in my life. I wouldn't be the same without it, and I think that I might never survive if music didn't exist. It makes me feel any emotion, I could get angry, sad, happy, enthusiastic, calm, and any other emotion. My favourite musician is Jeff Buckley at this time. I like him because I get inside his soul through his voice. And I can listen to him any time, doesn't matter how I feel, he really touches my mind. And his voice is way too strong but you always feel that he's about to break, but he never does. One of my favourite things it buying CD's and listening to them in the car. I think the Cd's is a purest way to have music than downloading it, so I only buy important cd's. Actually I have three Jeff Buckley's albums. If I were a song I wouldn't be the same song everyday, because I feel different everyday, but right now I would be "I know it's over" originally by The Smiths but I prefer Jeff B...

My favourite piece of technology

My favourite piece of technology is my car radio. I got it when my parents bought our car around 2 years ago. I use it when I go driving around my neighbourhood, but I principally get in the car for listening to music, because is one of my favourite places to do that. I do it whenever I feel like I have to do it, usually when I get a new cd or just want to listen an specific musician. I like it because it sounds so clear and you really get into the song. It's like having a space where you can be alone and listen to your favorite music for understing it. My life without it would be the same but I wouldn't have this time by myself and a place where the music sounds that perfect.
I was born on February 12, 1998 in Santiago, Chile. I lived in Conchalí neighborhood for my first seven years of life. I went to Cristobal Colón School, which was an "alternative" school with a different kind of education based on some values, for example, autonomy, solidarity, freedom of expression, etcetera and we also had many interesting traditions. There I made some really good friends but then we moved on so I lost contact with them, until we found each other's Facebook and now we keep in touch. As I said before, we moved to Lampa, a small town far away from civilization. We moved there because mi parents where really close to two more families and we used to spent every weekend together, so we decided to live the 12 of us together. It was a great phase of my life because we were six kids with a giant garden -we connected three houses- and a lot of free time. We all went to Emprender Larapinta School, where we started to make some friends and gradually stop being in...
